Paul Feig’s latest film, The Housemaid, has now earned over $300 million internationally, making it his most successful movie to date. While Feig is known for comedies like Bridesmaids and The Heat, as well as directing episodes of popular shows like Parks and Recreation and The Office, he previously took on the Ghostbusters franchise with a 2016 reboot. Though backed by a well-known brand, that Ghostbusters film earned just over $229 million worldwide. Before The Housemaid, Feig ventured into the thriller genre with a raunchy adaptation featuring Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney.

In Memory of a Killer, Dempsey plays Angelo, a highly skilled assassin. When Angelo begins to develop early-onset Alzheimer’s, he unexpectedly starts to remember his past and question his life. To make matters worse, he suspects his wife’s death wasn’t accidental, leading him to seek revenge.

Starring Emma Thompson (known from Harry Potter), Dead of Winter is a shocking mystery-thriller. The film centers on a grieving widow who, while driving through rural Minnesota in the winter, seeks shelter in a secluded cabin. There, she discovers a terrifying situation: a disturbed couple is holding a young woman captive, and she’s forced to fight for her own survival.

It’s important to remember this is just a limited example. Hollywood has made countless adaptations over the years, and many – likely dozens, if not hundreds – are actually superior to the books they’re based on.

There was some initial confusion about how long the movie Project Hail Mary is. A theater listing first showed a runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes, sparking discussion about how long movies should be. However, that listing was quickly changed to 1 hour and 35 minutes – a much shorter time. Amazon MGM and the movie’s co-director, Phil Lord, have now confirmed the 1 hour and 35 minute runtime includes the credits.

This series offered a fresh take on the DC Universe by telling the story through the eyes of its villains, a departure from the traditional focus on heroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Instead, it highlighted some of DC’s more obscure antagonists, including Bride, G.I. Robot, and Doctor Phosphorus.

Okay, so I watched the new Fear Factor: House of Fear, and honestly, the original was fun back in the day, and another reboot wasn’t exactly necessary. But this version feels like a bit of an upgrade, which is good! It was definitely one of the new Fox shows I was most excited about checking out, and I think it’s a really strong start to their 2026 season.
