Netflix has generally played it safe with science fiction, unlike Apple TV, which has embraced bolder, more experimental shows. But around ten years ago, Netflix was more willing to take chances, leading them to invest in one of their most creatively daring original sci-fi series.
Paramount+ has ordered a final season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, but it will be shorter than previous seasons. Season 3 premiered in June, and filming for Season 4 wrapped up in July. Fans can expect Season 4 in 2026, followed by Season 5 in 2027, both on Paramount+.
Paul Feig’s new film, The Housemaid, is a darkly funny and thrilling ride, and it definitely showcases Sydney Sweeney’s talent. This holiday special features the beloved Muppets – Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, and friends – traveling to Fozzie’s mom’s house for a celebration. However, Miss Piggy is delayed by work commitments and a snowstorm. I absolutely loved The Artful Dodger! It’s a really fun take on what happened to Jack Dawkins after Oliver Twist. Okay, it takes some liberties with history and the original story, but it’s so well done that people clearly loved it – it got a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and they’ve already renewed it for another season! It’s a great mix of clever heists, interesting medical stuff, and a sweet romance. If you’re a Sherlock Holmes fan like me and patiently waiting for the next movie, this will definitely keep you entertained!
DC Comics has revealed a new look for Kyle Rayner’s Green Lantern. An image from Green Lantern #600 (reported by Bleeding Cool) shows Rayner in a complete Lantern suit. The suit is primarily black and white across the chest, with green plating on his arms and legs, and a green mask.
But one actor truly made an impact. Six years ago today, December 18, 2025, Giancarlo Esposito first appeared in the Star Wars world as the intimidating Grand Moff Gideon in Season 1, Episode 7 of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Although other villains in the franchise haven’t quite lived up to their potential, Gideon’s character felt underused throughout his three seasons on the show.
