This month, I chose to revisit “The Notebook” on Netflix since it’s been 20 years since my initial viewing. The memorable duo of Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) from this non-romantic comedy caught my attention again. Interestingly enough, I had forgotten about Lon, played by James Marsden, who was a temporary stand-in for Noah in Allie’s life. After rewatching the movie, it’s hard to imagine that I was once a fan of Noah!

During the film, Pocket Universes held considerable importance. Although they originated from DC comics, James Gunn slightly adjusted the idea to give it a unique touch within the DC Universe.

Instead of the disjointed approach seen in previous DC attempts, Gunn’s new phase of DC Universe storytelling promises a unified narrative encompassing films, TV shows, animation, and more. Some fans anticipate that this revamped universe could potentially recreate DC’s golden age of superhero entertainment.

James Gunn explained in an interview with Entertainment Tonight why he chose Bradley Cooper for the role of Jor-El in Superman. He stated, “I required someone who could embody Jor-El, standing tall as we picture that character, and someone capable of filling the shoes left by Marlon Brando.

In the year 2025, Superman made his grand entrance with a staggering domestic opening weekend of $122 million, placing it as the third largest opening weekend of that year. Interestingly, only two other films had greater openings – “A Minecraft Movie” ($162.7 million) and “Lilo & Stitch” ($146 million), surpassing the debut of Man of Steel in 2013 which was $116.6 million.

In U.S. cinemas and internationally, the film generated approximately $122 million and $95 million respectively, totaling an impressive $217 million. This far surpasses many recent DC films such as “The Flash” ($55 million), “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” ($27.6 million), and the poorly-received “Joker: Folie a Deux” ($37.6 million). Considering that Gunn’s “Superman” is the initial film in a new DC Universe, this strong performance isn’t just promising; it’s virtually essential.

In the first episode of “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?”, I found myself puzzled about Gino Palazzolo and Jasmine Pineda’s relationship status. However, the subsequent episode provided some clarity. It seems that while Jasmine believes their open marriage is still valid, Gino is starting to have doubts.

A little over a year since discontinuing the flashback feature for live streams, it has been announced that another significant modification has taken place, this time in the form of a chopping block. This change might not affect most viewers who plan to watch the show during its 2025 TV broadcast, but I can assure you that there will be plenty of disgruntled fans among those who closely follow live feeds.

To begin with, I must confess that I’ve never been particularly fond of this character in general. When it comes to DC movies, there aren’t many that I’ve truly appreciated and look forward to rewatching in the future. In fact, very few have left a lasting impression on me.

In the cutthroat realm of superhero movies, where control on a global scale can make or break a series, James Gunn’s Superman has been successful domestically but encountered difficulties abroad. The movie’s impressive $122 million debut in North America represents a victorious relaunch for DC Studios, even though it didn’t quite match Man of Steel’s $128.7 million opening weekend. However, the international earnings paint a less inspiring picture.
