As a huge Marvel fan, I was really excited to see the cast of Avengers: Doomsday at a recent Disney event! What stood out to me was how they presented Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, right alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the rest of the Avengers. It felt like a real signal that Loki is finally stepping into a heroic role, leaving his villain days behind – and it’s happening before Avengers 5! It’s a big shift for the character and I’m definitely intrigued to see where they take him.

Set in the late 32nd century, after the events of Star Trek: Discovery, the new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy builds upon ideas first presented in Captain Michael Burnham’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) story. In season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery, Burnham and the USS Discovery traveled to the future, finding a United Federation of Planets and Starfleet with significantly more advanced technology.

After running for so long with hundreds of episodes, it was natural for the Naruto anime to include side stories while waiting for the manga to get ahead. While filler episodes often get a bad reputation for being unnecessary, many of them are actually quite enjoyable. They frequently focus on comedy and give viewers a chance to see different sides of the characters, offering moments that weren’t included in the main plot – all while staying true to the emotional heart of the Naruto world.

Johnny Depp attended Tokyo Comic Con this weekend, and even though he didn’t appear on stage with manga artist Eiichiro Oda, Oda still sent him a gift. Depp looked a little puzzled by the present, which was themed around his character Captain Jack Sparrow. I’m excited about it, though, and hoping it hints that Captain Jack – or a character inspired by him – might appear in One Piece someday.

The first sinister synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday has already made the rounds, but some fans may have overlooked its major reveal about Doctor Doom’s power set. Shared in an official newsletter from the Disney 2026 Merchandise Expo in China, the translated description confirmed that Downey Jr.’s Doom will be “a master of cutting-edge science and powerful magic.” 

The Academy Awards aren’t always perfect, and some past Best Picture winners aren’t remembered as classics today. Award shows generally overlook movies in genres like sci-fi or horror, meaning many excellent films get missed each year. This often results in surprising wins, particularly in years when strong genre films were released.

Many prominent figures in Hollywood have been critical of Donald Trump, and he doesn’t have much support among top celebrities. However, Kelsey Grammer publicly defended the former president. After Trump presented medals to Kennedy Center honorees, Grammer, who was at a post-ceremony dinner, described him as “extraordinary” and even suggested he could be considered the greatest U.S. president of all time.

It’s not surprising that Tom Cruise and Ridley Scott weren’t happy with how the film was initially received. Cruise avoided discussing it for years, and Scott frequently criticized the studio’s involvement. Fortunately, the movie has gained a following over time. The 2002 release of the Director’s Cut – which added around 20 minutes – helped Legend become a beloved cult classic. This longer version is more focused and enjoyable, and it significantly improves scenes, especially the ending, making it more attractive to fantasy enthusiasts. Ultimately, though, the film’s style and ideas will probably appeal most to those who enjoy The Lord of the Rings.

As a film buff, I really appreciate the early James Bond movies. They’re such a huge part of ’60s cinema and honestly, a cornerstone of the spy genre. Even now, I love revisiting Sean Connery’s films – they just feel like something you can’t recreate. They really set the standard for the whole franchise, and they nailed all the classic tropes, especially those unforgettable villains who always gave 007 a run for his money.
