Darth Maul, a notorious villain from the Star Wars universe, will be returning next year in a new animated series called Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Before the series begins, Marvel Comics will release a five-issue comic book prequel, STAR WARS: SHADOW OF MAUL, to set the stage. The comic is written by Benjamin Percy, who previously worked on a Star Wars comic featuring Darth Maul, and illustrated by Madibek Musabekov, known for his work on Star Wars: Jedi Knights. According to Marvel, this is a new way to experience the character’s story.

I’m hearing from the producer of The Conjuring films that this franchise is far from over. He recently shared at a Warner Bros. event that the latest movie’s performance proves people are still really into these spooky stories and the world they’ve built. Sounds like we can expect more scares in the future!

I’m really excited about this new series! It stars Emma Thompson, who’s incredible – she’s won two Oscars, you know? She plays Zoë Boehm, a private investigator, and the story kicks off when Ruth Wilson’s character, Sarah Trafford, hires her to find a child who’s gone missing after a house explodes. It sounds like a gripping mystery!

With a strong promotional push, you’ve probably heard of at least one of Timothée Chalamet’s new films: Marty Supreme, an A24 movie about table tennis that’s making him a frontrunner for Best Actor. He also stars in Anaconda, a clever reimagining of the 1997 film with Jack Black and Paul Rudd, and Song Sung Blue, a musical biopic about a Neil Diamond impersonator. While Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson are hoping for awards attention for the latter, early indicators suggest the box office competition between these three movies is already decided.

HBO recently shared a preview of its 2026 lineup, and confirmed that season two of Dune: Prophecy will premiere next year. The video shows Valya Harkonnen on the planet Arrakis at the 1:33 mark, walking towards a group wearing golden robes, seemingly at a Fremen settlement. You can watch the clip below.

It’s common for James Bond actors to have at least one film that isn’t their strongest, often due to issues beyond their control. However, over the past sixty years, two actors have consistently delivered excellent Bond films. Interestingly, these two are also often considered the most overlooked of all the Bond stars.

A new trailer for the third season of HBO’s Euphoria features Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett, voicing a reflective statement: “There’s no turning back. A few years after high school, I don’t know if life turned out how I expected.”

It’s rare for a TV series to get perfect scores across all seasons on Rotten Tomatoes, but this one does! Created by and starring genuine horror fans Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega, and Fred Armisen (from Portlandia), along with Bernardo Velasco and Cassandra Ciangherotti, the show is full of classic horror elements and is utterly charming.

The second-to-last episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks was likely the best Star Trek crossover event to date. Titled “Fissure Quest,” it featured a journey across multiple universes with Jack Quaid voicing Captain William Boimler and Tawny Newsome playing a different version of Ensign Beckett Mariner. The episode also brought back familiar faces from past Star Trek series, including Alexander Siddig as Dr. Julian Bashir, Andrew Robinson as Elim Garak, Garrett Wang in multiple roles as Harry Kim, and Alfre Woodard as Lily Sloane.
