Canceled Batman Arkham Game Suit Design Surfaces Online

Artwork from a Batman Arkham game that was ultimately canceled has been published online. Created by WB Games Montréal, the images give fans a look at a version of Batman they’ll never see in an official release. Artist Jerad S. Marantz shared the concept art, which shows an older Batman wearing very strong, armored gear.

Unmade Batman Arkham game would have had an older Dark Knight

A Batman game that was canceled a few years ago is getting attention again. The project, called Project Sabbath, was being developed by WB Games Montreal and aimed to be a grittier, more intense Batman experience than what fans had seen before. While the game never came out, recent posts on social media have given fans a look at what it could have been like.

As a huge Batman fan, I was really excited to see the new concept art Jerad S. Marantz posted on Instagram! He’s designed a seriously intense Batman suit – it’s much darker and feels incredibly weighty and layered. The illustrations show a Batman who’s really *been* through it – red eyes, a beaten-up look… it really emphasizes how years of fighting crime would take a toll on someone. You can tell this version has faced a lot of hardship.

Marantz shared his enthusiasm for Batman, explaining how thrilled he was to design a suit for a game set in the Arkham universe. Although the game was ultimately canceled, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity and described the project as enjoyable.

The artist described the idea behind the piece, explaining that it featured an older, worn-down Batman whose suit was barely keeping him together. He shared his enduring love for the character, saying, ‘I could work on this version of Batman forever.’

Beyond the details about the character outfits, some unfinished gameplay videos have also appeared online recently. However, there was never any official announcement about when, or even if, Project Sabbath would be released.
