The popular creator of hit TV shows is generating buzz with his new Apple TV+ series, Pluribus, leading many to wonder if he might revisit the world of Breaking Bad someday. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he didn’t rule out further spin-offs of the acclaimed AMC series, saying “never say never,” but added a significant condition.

He said he’d be willing to revisit the franchise, but does not want to “[mess] up people’s memories.

As a huge fan, I’ve often thought it would be amazing to see another character get the prequel treatment, like Saul Goodman. Bob Odenkirk was brilliant, and exploring his backstory in a similar style to Better Call Saul would be fantastic. Another idea that’s really gained traction with fans is seeing how Gus Fring became the kingpin we know. Imagine a show detailing his climb in the New Mexico drug scene, maybe even with a different actor taking on the role. It’s a concept a lot of us have talked about!

Considering Gilligan’s past successes and the talent of those he works with, it’s safe to say his future projects will likely be well-received.
