Brad Pitt’s ‘Action-Packed,’ ‘Vintage Cool’ $631.5M Drama Is Finally Available To Stream

The newest season is proving to be a hit! F1 is now available for streaming and quickly becoming one of the most popular shows.

Starting December 12th, viewers can watch the film from their homes. Just one day after becoming available on Apple TV, F1 quickly rose to become the most-watched film in almost 100 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, the movie F1 features Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One racer who now drives for money. He teams up with his old teammate’s new racing crew to prevent them from closing down. The film also stars Damson Idris as Joshua Pearce, a promising young driver who becomes Sonny’s teammate and competitor on the APXGP team.

The main cast of F1 includes Kerry Condon as Kate McKenna, the technical director for APXGP, and Javier Bardem as Rubén Cervantes, the team owner and a former teammate of Sonny. Tobias Menzies plays Peter Banning, a member of the APXGP board, and Simon Kunz portrays Don Cavendish, a critical sports commentator inspired by the real-life Murray Walker. The series also features appearances by Kim Bodnia, Sarah Niles, Will Merrick, Joseph Balderrama, Callie Cooke, Samson Kayo, Kyle Rankin, and Shea Whigham.

The film quickly became a box office hit, earning over $631.5 million worldwide on a production budget of about $300 million. Beyond its financial success, F1 received widespread critical acclaim and resonated with audiences, resulting in numerous award nominations and five wins so far, with more still to come.

Currently, the movie F1 has an 82% “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 350 reviews from critics. Audiences have given it a 97% rating, based on more than 10,000 user reviews.

F1 Is Already Speeding Towards a Sequel According to Its Legendary Producer

Last September, producer Jerry Bruckheimer hinted that more sequels are on the way. Speaking at a Variety summit, he confirmed they are developing another Top Gun movie, hope to make another F1 film, and are currently working on another Pirates of the Caribbean installment.

Bruckheimer said they have many successful movie ideas in development and are hoping to bring them all to life. He emphasized that the most rewarding part of filmmaking isn’t the financial gain, but bringing joy and emotional connection to audiences – seeing people smile and being moved by the stories.

Whether there will be a sequel is up to the viewers. We ended the story with a lot of possibilities for Sonny, Kate, and Joshua, so there’s definitely potential for more stories about the APXGP team and what happens next with Sonny Hayes. Ultimately, though, it’s not my call.

F1 is currently available for streaming on Apple TV.
