The friendship between MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) and Pete Davidson has been going strong for years. They clearly connect, sharing a playful personality and a passion for music. Now, both are either fathers or expecting children. MGK recently shared his candid and funny thoughts on what it’s like to be friends with Davidson.

It was awesome seeing Machine Gun Kelly get recognized as a Style Icon at the Fashion Media Awards! He brought Pete Davidson as his guest, which was so cool. MGK – Colson Baker, as a lot of people know him – told Us Weekly that he and Pete are basically ‘idiots’ together, but he meant it in the best way possible! They’re just two pals who have a lot of fun and don’t take themselves too seriously, and it’s really endearing to see.

We’re both a little clueless, and somehow we always end up meeting halfway. Mostly, we just enjoy watching movies and spending time with our kids.

You know, it’s hard to put your finger on what makes a really strong connection between people – I feel that with some of my closest friends, it just *is*. And it struck me as funny when Machine Gun Kelly talked about him and Pete Davidson just ‘watching movies’ together. That totally makes sense, considering Pete’s a big VHS collector! Honestly, the image of those two chilling out and enjoying a film is surprisingly endearing. It’s the same vibe I got from Kelly’s really charming and funny acceptance speech at the Fashion Media Awards – just a genuinely sweet moment.

I want to thank my husband, Pete, and my wonderful daughter for their support tonight. I’m really nervous, but this is a huge honor. It means a lot to me, especially because I’ve often felt like an outsider in this close-knit community.
