Just a week after it began airing on CBS, the new series Boston Blue, a spinoff of the long-running show Blue Bloods, has already achieved a significant milestone. Blue Bloods originally premiered in 2010 and ran for 14 seasons before being unexpectedly cancelled. Boston Blue stars Donnie Wahlberg, who returns as his popular character Danny Reagan. The first episode aired on Friday, October 17th.
As reported by Deadline, the new series Boston Blue has quickly gained international traction, selling to over 100 markets after just one episode. Broadcasters like AXN Asia, Coupang Play (Korea), M-Net (Africa), Sky (New Zealand and Germany), Play Media (Belgium), Cosmote TV (Greece), Síminn (Iceland), and beIN (Cyprus and Turkey) are among those who have purchased the rights to air the show outside of the U.S.
The drama series Boston Blue will be available on Paramount+ in Australia. Elsewhere internationally, the show will air on CTV.
Even before its international release, Boston Blue was highly anticipated thanks to the popularity of its original format. However, the show has surpassed all expectations, selling to over 100 countries. It recently previewed at MIPCOM, a major television market, in Cannes, France.
