CBS announced exciting news for viewers today: premiere dates for all of its fall shows, including the new series based on Blue Bloods.
Boston Blue Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed
The new season of Boston Blue premieres on Friday, October 9th at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. The night kicks off with Sheriff Country at 8 p.m., then Fire Country at 9 p.m. Both Sheriff Country and Fire Country are returning favorites – this will be their second and fifth seasons, and they share the same fictional world.
Both Donnie Wahlberg’s character, Danny Reagan, and his on-screen son, Sean, appear in Boston Blue. When a hiring freeze happens at the NYPD, Sean transfers to Boston to work as a patrol officer. Following a case involving Sean, Danny also joins the Boston Police Department.
Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis created Boston Blue as an independent project, separate from Blue Bloods. CBS then realized they could adapt the idea as a spin-off of Blue Bloods and, in February 2025, ordered the show directly to series without a pilot.
Boston Blue returns with its Season 2 premiere on CBS on Oct. 9.
