Great news for fans of Blue Box! Season 2 is officially coming to Netflix, and we now have a better idea of when to expect it. Along with the streaming news, details about the cast, crew, and a first look at the season have been revealed. The new season will continue the story of Taiki and Chinatsu and is set to launch later in 2024.

Good news for fans of Blue Box! A second season is confirmed and is moving forward. Following the finale of the first season in late March, details about when we can expect it, who’s working on it, and some new images have been revealed.

Season two will premiere in Japan on October 4th on TBS and its network of 27 channels. While the anime will be available worldwide on Netflix in October 2026, the exact international release date hasn’t been announced yet.

A short trailer and image have been released, giving fans their first glimpse of the new season. The preview suggests the story will continue to follow Taiki Inomata, a freshman badminton player at Eimei High, and Chinatsu Kano, a sophomore and star player on the girls’ basketball team.

The upcoming season will continue to show how their relationship develops, focusing on how they become closer while also pursuing their own goals.

The new season of the show has some changes happening behind the camera and in front of it. Daisuke Sakō is now directing, replacing Yūichirō Yano who directed the first season. Plus, Yoshino Aoyama is joining the cast as a new character named Yumeka Kido.

The anime is based on the manga Ao no Hako by Kouji Miura. It’s produced by Telecom Animation Film and is one of the original anime series created for Netflix in Japan.
