As a huge Marvel fan, I’m really excited about the next Avengers movie! We’ve got a new little tidbit of info about one of the heroes we all love in Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. And get this – they’re already planning another one, Avengers: Secret Wars, for December 17, 2027! It feels like a long wait, but knowing another epic team-up is coming definitely makes it easier.
A new report from Daniel Richtman suggests that the upcoming Doomsday film will include more than one Black Panther, alongside Letitia Wright’s Shuri. This fits with earlier speculation that while multiple characters may take on the Black Panther mantle eventually, Shuri will be the primary Black Panther for the foreseeable future.
Who is the MCU’s potential next Black Panther?
I’ve been seeing this rumor about a new Avengers movie called ‘Doomsday,’ and it’s got me thinking about who could be the next Black Panther. A lot of fans are hoping it’s Damson Idris, the actor from ‘Snowfall.’ I actually saw a clip of him being asked about it recently, and he just laughed and said he didn’t know anything! It’s interesting because he was also just at the Vogue World event with Angela Bassett, who played Queen Ramonda, and she was even dressed as her character! It definitely got people talking.
The upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday, will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the team behind Avengers: Endgame. Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay. Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth are returning, and Downey Jr. will play a new character: Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom. The movie boasts a large cast including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Lewis Pullman, Simu Liu, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danny Ramirez.
The next movie will bring back familiar faces from the X-Men franchise, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Kevin Feige has hinted that the cast list isn’t complete and that more actors will be announced soon, following the excitement generated by the initial casting reveal. There’s also speculation that characters like Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers, and Spider-Man could make an appearance.
