Black Panther 3 has received an exciting update.
The Black Panther story began with the 2018 film, though Chadwick Boseman first played T’Challa in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. The sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, came out in 2022 and featured Letitia Wright as the new Black Panther following Boseman’s passing in 2020. Both films were directed by Ryan Coogler.
Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart and played by Dominique Thorne, first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She later starred in her own Disney+ series, which debuted last year. Disney+ also released an animated anthology series called Eyes of Wakanda last year.
What is the Black Panther 3 update?
Although Marvel hasn’t announced a release date for Black Panther 3, director Ryan Coogler has confirmed it’s in development and will be his next project. Details about the story are still scarce, but Coogler has mentioned the possibility of Denzel Washington appearing in the film.
So, I was just reading on Nexus Point News that Marvel has officially registered a new production company called ‘Fragment Productions LLC’. Apparently, this is the company they’re going to use for making Black Panther 3! It’s exciting to see things moving forward with the next installment.
The project is progressing well, and we’re likely getting closer to a start date for Black Panther 3. While everything beyond the 2027 release of Avengers: Secret Wars is uncertain, Marvel has several unannounced movies scheduled for 2028. If filming for Black Panther 3 begins this year, it could potentially fill one of those slots.
This film could be among the very first Marvel movies released after Avengers: Secret Wars, effectively launching the next major storyline for the MCU. Considering Phase 7 is anticipated to focus on the X-Men, we might see some mutant characters appear in Black Panther 3.
