Lots of excellent TV thrillers have come out recently, but Mr. Robot really stood out. This groundbreaking techno-thriller originally aired on USA Network from 2015 to 2019 and gained a new audience when it was added to Netflix earlier this year. However, it’s leaving the streaming service next month, so now’s the time to binge-watch all four seasons before it disappears!
Premiering on June 24, 2015, Mr. Robot features Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity expert and hacker who fights for justice. The show was groundbreaking for its realistic portrayal of difficult topics like mental health, addiction, and trauma. It’s also highly praised for its accurate depiction of cybersecurity, even using actual hacking tools and techniques.
Elliot is a young, introverted computer programmer who works as a cybersecurity expert by day. But at night, he’s a hacker fighting injustice. He’s approached by the enigmatic leader of a secret hacker group and asked to help dismantle powerful corporations – even the one that employs him. This creates a difficult moral conflict for Elliot, who struggles with his desire to expose and take down what he sees as the destructive forces of big business, despite being paid to protect them.
‘Mr. Robot’ Did What Few TV Shows Have Been Able to Do

USA Network
It’s become typical for TV shows to lose favor with critics as they run longer, but Mr. Robot defied that trend. The series consistently received high praise, maintaining a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and earning a “Certified Fresh” designation for every season – a rare achievement that speaks to its exceptional quality. As Paste Magazine’s Shane Ryan noted:
Mr. Robot is a truly smart and respectful show. Even when it finally reveals answers to big questions, it doesn’t suggest those answers magically solve everything.
All four seasons of the critically acclaimed show Mr. Robot are currently available on Netflix, but they won’t be there forever! If you haven’t watched it yet, now’s the time to binge-watch, as the series is leaving Netflix on January 3, 2026.
