Big MCU TV Show Episodes Could Someday Get Theatrical Releases

Brad Winderbaum hopes that big MCU TV shows could someday get theatrical releases.

Recently, a new trend has emerged where extended episodes of popular TV shows are being shown in movie theaters. While this isn’t entirely new, shows like Stranger Things, One Piece, Invincible, and The Pitt have recently hosted or announced special screenings, letting fans watch episodes in theaters before they become available on television or streaming services.

What did Brad Winderbaum say about MCU TV shows and movie theaters?

During an interview with The Escape Pod, Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, television, and animation, Winderbaum, was asked if the studio considered showing first or last episodes of their Disney+ TV series in cinemas.

Winderbaum hasn’t said if Marvel is currently planning something like this, but he’s open to the idea for the future.

“I want to do that so bad,” Winderbaum said. “I want to do that so bad.”

Winderbaum suggested Marvel might do something special for the last episode of Daredevil: Born Again, but it’s not a definite plan. He seemed to be just brainstorming possibilities, and it’s unclear if it will actually happen anytime soon.

Winderbaum concluded, “We’ve got to do it. We’ve got to do it.”

After Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 ends, Marvel will release The Punisher: One Last Kill on May 12, 2026. Several other shows are also planned for Disney+ this year, including VisionQuest, a second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and X-Men ’97 Season 2, but their exact release dates haven’t been announced yet.
