This week, or week number seven, in Big Brother finds Vince Panaro expressing second thoughts about his role as Head of Household. To be fair, winning was necessary to avoid Katherine Woodman’s nomination, but since the end of the Week 7 Power of Veto contest, he seems to have found the responsibilities quite burdensome.
It’s common knowledge that Mickey Lee secured the veto, leaving Vince in a tricky situation, as he now had to nominate someone else for eviction. This move posed a challenge for Vince, who had been aiming to maintain neutrality within the house. The decision Vince made could define which alliance he was aligned with. Let’s delve into his choice and examine whether it might lead to regret as the dynamics within the house become more defined.
Vince Had Half The House Pushing Hard For Him To Nominate Rachel
It was bad news for Vince that Mickey used the veto, as it meant losing the unanimous vote to be evicted. As a player balancing between different groups, Vince was stuck with limited options on whom to nominate without revealing his true loyalties. Since Vince enjoys playing multiple sides, winning Head of Household wasn’t beneficial for him in the first place because it forced him to pick sides more clearly.
The issues arose when the discussion about the new nominee ensued. His alliance of judges, comprising Rachel Reilly, Will Williams, Morgan Pope, and Ashley Hollis, believed that the strategic move would be to nominate Kat. Admittedly, it seemed unkind considering Rylie Jeffries, their showmance partner, had just been eliminated, but Kat had openly expressed her desire to evict Vince.
Subsequently, there was a group of individuals residing in another part of the house who held some issues against Rachel. Keanu Soto took the role as their leader, with Lauren Domingue, Kat, and Kelley Jorgensen actively pushing for Rachel’s removal. It can be inferred that Ava Pearl and Mickey were also inclined towards this situation, even though they didn’t express it as forcefully as the others.
Vince pondered quite a bit over the possibility of nominating Rachel, particularly after she effectively squashed his plan to nominate Ashley. He was concerned that by doing so, he might be giving Rachel control of his Head of Household role, and in private, even making fun of him during Diary Room sessions. This could potentially make him seem foolish in the eyes of Big Brother viewers.
Rachel conversed with Vinny prior to the veto ceremony, offering words of encouragement, hoping to ease his concerns about what was transpiring. Regrettably, viewers watching Big Brother online missed witnessing his reaction, as the feeds abruptly ended and resumed several hours later, revealing the post-event situation.
Vince Chose To Remain Loyal To The Judges, And I Think It’s A Win-Win For Him
Upon resuming my feed, I found myself observing a tense scene at the gym; Vince and Keanu appeared frazzled, while Kat was seething due to being nominated for eviction. In the final analysis, Rachel managed to persuade Vince not to turn on The Judges, assuring him we’d stick together until our journey reaches its bitter end – or so it seems. Clearly, though, he’s still grappling with his choice and it hasn’t left him completely content.

Vince is undeniably anxious because, even if Kelly or Kat are eliminated this week, there are still several players who harbor resentment towards him in the game. It’s likely that he’s contemplating a situation where one of these individuals nominates him and Rachel for elimination. The question then arises: If they were to face this choice, would the Judges prioritize Vince’s safety over Rachel’s?
It’s possible that they haven’t, but it seems to me that those upset with Vince’s decision this week have signaled their readiness to target Rachel should the chance arise. For now, Rachel is serving as a buffer for him, and if she departs, he has achieved his goal regardless.
Apart from the fact that targeting Vince wouldn’t be smart, it would be particularly difficult for those on the opposite side of The Judges to do so. They are already numerically weak, and Vince is a close ally to many of them. This could have unknowingly enhanced Vince’s game significantly, Rachel included. Given the unexpected twists this season has presented, we’ll have to wait and see how things unfold for him.
