Sabrina Carpenter rumored for a ‘huge’ Marvel role

A recent post by Marvel insider @MyTimeToShineHello is fueling rumors about the studio’s casting choices. The insider shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Sabrina Carpenter is being considered for a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and asked fans who they’d like to see her play.

With a new Avengers movie potentially on the horizon, rumors are resurfacing about director John Carpenter possibly joining the upcoming reboot of the X-Men franchise. These rumors first circulated in June.

The latest buzz suggests Sabrina Carpenter is a top contender to play Dazzler, a popular mutant character known for turning sound into light. MyTimeToShineHello previously reported that Carpenter has had discussions with Marvel Studios about the role of Alison Blaire, but there hasn’t been an official confirmation yet.

The possibility of Carpenter joining the cast signals that Marvel is gradually preparing for the return of the X-Men. Though official casting hasn’t started, actors like Harris Dickinson, Margaret Qualley, and Julia Butters have been mentioned as potential choices for key mutant characters like Cyclops, Rogue, and Kitty Pryde. Trinity Bliss, Javier Bardem, Hunter Schafer, and Ayo Edebiri are also reportedly being considered for roles.

Sabrina Carpenter is famous for her music, but she’s also built a solid acting career. She’s appeared in movies like Adventures in Babysitting and The Hate U Give, as well as the Netflix films Tall Girl and The Short History of the Long Road.

Marvel is still working on plans to relaunch the X-Men. Jake Schreier, the director of the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, is a possible candidate to direct the new X-Men project, though Marvel hasn’t announced a release date yet.
