We should hear some important news about the upcoming Batman movie, The Brave and the Bold, pretty soon.
Andy Muschietti, the director of 2023’s The Flash, is set to direct The Brave and the Bold, a new film from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios. The project was first revealed in 2023, soon after James Gunn and Peter Safran took charge at DC Studios, but there hasn’t been much news about it since.
James Gunn has confirmed the movie is still in development, though recent reports from Emergency Awesome indicate the story has changed significantly from its original plan. While there was talk of combining Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ universe with the main DC Universe – potentially making Robert Pattinson the Batman for both – it appears that won’t be happening.
What did Andy Muschietti say about Batman and The Brave and the Bold?
In a recent interview with Variety, director Andy Muschietti and his sister and frequent collaborator, Barbara Muschietti, confirmed he remains at the helm of the film. They also suggested that significant news about the project will be revealed soon.
When asked about the future of The Brave and the Bold, Barbara confirmed it was still planned, but stated they weren’t able to discuss it further.
Andy said they needed to wait a couple of months before they could discuss the matter, then quickly admitted he’d already said too much. He jokingly lamented, “I messed up.”
We don’t have any news yet about who will be in “The Brave and the Bold.” It’s unclear if the live-action Batman will first appear in another DC Universe project, like the planned “Clayface” movie in 2026, before his official debut in that film. Currently, “The Brave and the Bold” doesn’t have a release date.
