The latest installment of the popular mecha series debuted in 2025, featuring a completely new look for its mobile suits. Now, as 2025 comes to a close, Bandai plans to release model kits based on the anime in 2026.
The 1/144 scale HG 01 Gundam [GQ] is an early prototype, designed as a stylistic precursor to the iconic RX-78-2. Coming soon is the HG 1/144 Hambrabi (GQ), featuring a distinctive design that captures the look of the GQuuuuuuX series. Even with only one model shown so far, these kits promise to be highly sought-after collectibles for fans of the newest Gundam anime.
Bandai Previews 2026 With New Gundam GQuuuuuuX High Grade Model Kits Releases

The HG 1/144 01 Gundam [GQ] model kit is joining the High Grade line, based on the mecha from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. It features the anime’s distinctive, almost skeletal design and is an earlier version of the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Instead of the classic red, white, blue, and yellow color scheme, this model is mostly black and white. It comes with a variety of weapons and accessories, including beam sabers, a beam rifle, a hyper bazooka, and a shield. This highly poseable, slightly slender model kit is a great representation of the new anime and its unique designs. It will be released in January 2026 and will cost approximately US$17 (2,420 yen).
A new model kit based on the recent anime Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the HG 1/144 Hambrabi (GQ). Its design borrows elements from an existing mobile suit. Revealed at the 63rd All Japan Model and Hobby Show, images of the completed model haven’t been released yet, likely because it isn’t scheduled to hit stores until June 2026. The kit will be priced at 2,826 yen (around $19), making it an affordable option for High Grade Gundam model kit fans. GQuuuuuuX, which debuted in 2025, was created by the team behind a very popular earlier series, and many collectibles – including plastic models and action figures from the Gundam Universe line – have already been released.
