Channing Tatum recently shared a health update with his fans after having shoulder surgery. The actor, known for his role in “Avengers: Doomsday,” posted photos and X-rays online explaining he needed an operation to repair a separated shoulder. He says he’s feeling positive and is committed to a full recovery.

Tatum announced the news on Instagram with a photo of himself in a hospital gown, taken from his bed. He acknowledged the difficult recovery ahead, writing, “This one is gonna be hard.”

He quickly followed up by sharing X-rays of his injury on Instagram. The images showed a clear separation in his shoulder, and another revealed a large screw used to stabilize it after surgery. The surgery repaired damage to the AC joint – where the collarbone connects to the shoulder blade.

People have also noticed the timing of Tatum’s recent surgery. It follows an earlier leg injury he sustained while filming “Avengers: Doomsday” in London. In an interview with Variety in September 2025, he appeared with a noticeable limp and explained how the injury restricted his movement on set. He admitted, “It’s not the immediate pain that bothers me, it’s the realization that I can’t undo it.”

It’s currently unclear if Jayson Tatum’s current shoulder problem is related to a previous injury, or if it occurred in a separate incident. Regardless, Tatum is known for pushing his physical limits, as demonstrated by his roles in films like Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street.
