In the midst of filming for “Avengers: Doomsday”, one of the returning Marvel stars has been releasing sneak peeks from the set in the form of videos and photos. The next Avengers installment is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with its sequel, “Avengers: Secret Wars”, premiering a day earlier on December 17, 2027.
Who is in the Avengers: Doomsday set video and photos?
On Instagram, Alan Cumming, who was nominated for a Golden Globe, shared sneak peeks from the set of Avengers: Doomsday. He’s set to reprise his role as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler. You might remember that this X-Men character was last seen in the 2003 movie X2. Alongside Cumming, other X-Men cast members making a comeback for the new Avengers film include Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
The upcoming movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is being helmed by directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who also worked on “Avengers: Endgame.” The script was penned by Stephen McFeely. Notable actors like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and possibly Chris Evans are set to reprise their roles. Interestingly, the role of Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom will be portrayed by actor Oppenheimer, a departure from his previous characters in the Marvel universe.
Apart from Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Danny Ramirez, the film’s impressive cast will also feature other talented actors. Kevin Feige, who previously hinted that not all cast members have been unveiled yet, has suggested there might be more casting announcements coming up in the future.
