Marvel Studios recently showed off the complete trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at CinemaCon, giving fans a much longer look at the new movie. This followed four shorter teasers released online and in theaters four months ago. The trailer has received a varied response, with fans having differing opinions.
Fans reacted to Avengers: Doomsday trailer in two ways
At CinemaCon, Marvel Studios, along with directors the Russo Brothers and stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, debuted the official trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. The trailer also gave fans their first look at Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom.
The story also included appearances by popular characters such as Professor X, Thor, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and Namor. It highlighted several battles, including a fight between Gambit and Shang-Chi, and another where Mystique disguised herself as Yelena Belova during a confrontation.
The new clip received a variety of responses from fans. Many praised what they saw, especially the enthusiastic reaction from the audience, and predicted a fantastic experience. One fan simply described the trailer as “INSANE.”
Someone else mentioned the audience was clearly thrilled, with plenty of moments designed to please fans. They believe the movie is sure to be a success for Marvel.
Someone else claimed Robert Downey Jr.’s performance as Doom caused a huge reaction online. They also mentioned Marvel was working on a thrilling movie involving characters from different universes, and encouraged the studio to release a trailer soon.
One viewer described the footage as giving them “goosebumps,” and suggested the film could be a fresh start for Marvel after a period of less impressive releases.
One fan, after watching the trailer twice, said it was even better than they’d hoped. In a video, they called it “electrifying” and pointed out their favorite moments: the fight between Shang-Chi and Gambit, Yelena battling Mystique, Thor visiting the Fantastic Four’s ship, and a meeting with Steve Rogers, who takes Stormbreaker from him.
But some people were disappointed, particularly those who couldn’t watch the video. One person specifically said they were frustrated about missing out on seeing the trailer.
Someone else demanded to know where the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was, using strong language. Another person playfully offered to pay for a glimpse of it.
One wanted to know when the full footage will drop online.
The new Avengers movie, Doomsday, will be released on December 18, 2026. Its follow-up, Secret Wars, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2027.
