The opening weekend box office predictions for Avatar 3 have arrived.

How much is Avatar 3 expected to make during its opening weekend?
Avatar: Fire and Ash is predicted to earn between $100 million and $130 million during its first weekend in theaters, with estimates around $110 million, according to Deadline.
The new film is starting off behind the opening weekend numbers of Avatar: The Way of Water, which made $134.1 million, and that’s perfectly acceptable, according to the report. Unlike most Marvel movies, Avatar films are events people plan ahead for. Viewers specifically seek out the best viewing experiences – 3D, IMAX, and large-format screens. There aren’t hidden details or ‘Easter Eggs’ like in Marvel movies that drive fans to see it immediately. When looking at the opening for the new Avatar film, the domestic opening of Avatar: The Way of Water represents the highest possible comparison point.
Let’s talk box office numbers. The original Avatar absolutely blew everyone away when it hit theaters, raking in $77 million just during its opening weekend. Ultimately, it became the highest-grossing film ever, with a staggering $2.9 billion worldwide. And its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, didn’t slouch either – it finished its run with an impressive $2.3 billion, landing it as the third highest-grossing movie of all time. Both films are true cinematic juggernauts.
If Avatar: Fire and Ash earns $110 million during its opening weekend in 2025, it will have a lower debut than several other recent films. These include A Minecraft Movie ($162 million), Lilo & Stitch ($146 million), Superman ($125 million), The Fantastic Four: First Steps ($117 million), and Wicked: For Good ($147 million). Jurassic World Rebirth had a different release schedule, opening mid-week and earning $147.8 million over five days, with a traditional Friday-Sunday weekend total of $92 million.
