Okay, so I’m seeing some buzz online – it looks like Ayo Edebiri, the star of The Bear, was spotted on the set of Spider-Man 4! Fans are sharing photos of her with Tom Holland, and everyone’s speculating about who she’s playing. A lot of people think she might be taking on the role of Jean DeWolff, a pretty important detective character from the Marvel comics – kind of like the Jim Gordon of the Spider-Man universe. It’s all just speculation right now, but it’s definitely got me excited!

As Halloween gets closer, I’ve been checking out what everyone’s streaming, and it’s no surprise horror is dominating the charts! Over on Hulu, they’ve got a bunch of Scream and Twilight movies in their top ten, along with the 2018 Halloween reboot. They even have something a little lighter for the family, like Hotel Transylvania, which is great.

Okay, so last year Marvel did this huge crossover event that I was totally hooked on! It was written by Jed MacKay, and the art by Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia was amazing – Cory Petit did the lettering. Basically, it was a vampire invasion of Earth, but it wasn’t your typical vampire story. They had Varnae, the first vampire, take over Blade using this Darkforce energy, and he basically conquered the planet! It was pretty intense – a lot of people died, and they turned a bunch of heroes and villains into vampires. It was a wild ride!

Let’s discuss Ready Player One, the popular 2018 science fiction adventure directed by Steven Spielberg and inspired by Ernest Cline’s novel. The film earned over $600 million worldwide and resonated with many viewers, with some calling it the greatest video game movie of all time. While it’s technically not based on a video game—it’s a movie about one—their enthusiasm is understandable. Putting aside minor details, Ready Player One stands alongside similar films like Tron and Wreck-It Ralph, which are also frequently cited as top movies centered around gaming.

Someone asked me if they were starting work on the sequel this year, and honestly, I was as surprised as anyone! I asked around, but apparently no one knows anything for sure. It’s all a big mystery! As far as I know, they haven’t even started filming yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I really don’t have any inside information, I wish I did!

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, the stars of the Back to the Future trilogy, recently told Empire magazine that the films resonate even more strongly with audiences today than they did in the 1980s. Lloyd noted he’s consistently amazed by the lasting impact the time-travel movies had on young viewers, saying it’s something people still talk about frequently.

The film A House of Dynamite, featuring Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson, portrays the U.S. government’s reaction to a nuclear missile headed for Chicago. The story focuses on the intense 18-minute window to prevent millions of casualties, and experts suggest this frightening scenario is realistically possible. Jennifer Knox from The Union of Concerned Scientists praised the film as ‘required viewing,’ noting its accuracy in reflecting real-world possibilities.

I’m so excited! One of my favorite movies, Ryan Coogler’s amazing vampire thriller, is coming back to the big screen! It was fantastic when it streamed on HBO Max in July, but seeing it in IMAX will be incredible. It’s playing in select theaters from October 30th to November 5th, and I already have my tickets!

Divorce is a subject that Kim Kardashian has some experience with, as she’s seen the end of three marriages. Laura Wasser — divorce attorney to the stars — helped the reality TV star through the latter two of those, and Kardashian says she channeled Wasser’s energy for her All’s Fair character Allura Grant. She told On the Red Carpet:

Apple TV+ has announced that the third season of Shrinking will premiere on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, with a one-hour episode. The show, which has received positive reviews (94% from critics and 89% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes), will release new episodes every Wednesday through April 8, 2026, for a total of 11 episodes. Starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, the cast also includes Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. The second season finished airing in December 2024.
