It’s tempting to nitpick when rewatching a favorite show, and the first season of How I Met Your Mother definitely has some issues. The pilot episode is actually quite strong, but even that early success hints at a problem that becomes apparent later in the series.

The trailer for season 5 starts to reveal some of this backstory, especially concerning Vecna, the show’s central villain.
Despite its intense and graphic violence, especially towards the end, Midsommar was a hit with both critics and audiences. Before the film came out, there was debate about whether it would receive an NC-17 or R rating, with the filmmakers hoping for the more lenient R rating to ensure wider viewership. For over five years, Midsommar‘s shocking imagery and extreme scenes have been a benchmark in horror. Now, with the release of Bugonia, director Yorgos Lanthimos seems poised to once again unsettle and disturb audiences, as he’s known for doing.
Even though Halloween has passed, the spooky season often extends a bit longer, so let’s look at one last great horror story. This will be the perfect conclusion to our month of exploring chilling tales, including previously discussed works, and will cap things off nicely with the collaboration between Scott Snyder and Stephen King.
