Cowboy Bebop was widely praised and helped introduce many Western viewers to anime in the late 1990s. Though often described as a space western, the show successfully mixes science fiction, action, and drama, all within a stylish, dark atmosphere. Its success naturally led to a live-action adaptation on Netflix, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the original. The 2021 series failed to capture what made Cowboy Bebop so special, likely because trying to perfectly copy something unique is a recipe for disaster.

Variety reports that David Ellison’s leadership at Paramount is aiming to create a fresh Star Trek film. This won’t be a continuation of the previous movies starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldaña, and the original reboot cast, but rather a brand new story.

A preview of DC K.O.: Knightfight #1 (from DC Comics, by Joshua Williamson, Dan Mora, Tríona Farrell, and Tom Napolitano) shows the moment Batman was stabbed by the Joker in the first issue of DC K.O. Luckily, Batman had equipped his suit with technology that could instantly transport him back to Gotham if he was injured. However, when he returns, he finds a drastically changed Gotham City, and his former Robins aren’t pleased to see him.

In the first Lord of the Rings movie, Sam vowed to stay with Frodo no matter what, but he found himself forced to leave him. He took the One Ring to complete Frodo’s mission, and then overheard Orcs discussing that Frodo hadn’t been killed by Shelob’s venom. While the scene ultimately proved to be a false alarm in The Return of the King, it was deeply moving and still resonates with viewers today, largely thanks to Sean Astin’s powerful performance as Sam. The director’s commentary reveals this was one of the audition scenes for Sam, and it was the scene that secured Astin the role.
