With the holidays here, I like to seek out some unique Christmas movies alongside the classics. Netflix has released a lot of well-received films this year, so I was curious if their new movie, A Merry Little Ex-Mas, would appeal to me. I was especially interested because, like the couple in the film, I also experienced a divorce during the holiday season.

DC Studios launched a new animated short called Krypto Saves the Day: Package Pandemonium on November 28th. The short is the newest addition to a series featuring Krypto, the Superdog, who first appeared in Superman.
The first season of the show focused on a single, intense 15-hour emergency room shift, weaving in the main character’s personal history and past traumas, particularly as he dealt with the anniversary of his mentor’s death during the COVID-19 pandemic. The second season maintains a similar structure, with each episode taking place over one hour of a shift, but the circumstances are quite different this time.
Although Lisa Kudrow didn’t appear in another show as massively popular as Friends, she did star in one that many found even funnier. Just over a year after Friends finished its ten seasons, Kudrow partnered with Michael Patrick King, known for Sex and the City, to create a new show specifically for her, appropriately named The Comeback.
Worf began as a minor character on Star Trek: The Next Generation but quickly developed into one of the most interesting and well-developed characters in the entire series. Through his story, TNG offered a much deeper look into Klingon society, politics, and traditions, helping fans truly understand this proud warrior culture.
I’ve been a huge fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender for ages, and it’s been amazing to see the story expand beyond the original show! We’ve gotten so much extra content over the years – novels, comics, graphic novels, even concerts! And of course, there have been a bunch of Avatar video games too. Honestly, they haven’t always gotten the attention they deserved…but that’s starting to change, and I’m really excited about it!
Good news for Dragon Ball Z fans! A popular MegaHouse figure of Son Goku, originally released in 2010, is being re-released, according to a recent post from the industry news and fan site Catsuka. It’s called the “Desktop Real McCoy Dragon Ball Z Son Goku 01 -Limited Reprint Edition-.”
Season 2 of Percy Jackson & The Olympians will introduce ‘The Great Prophecy,’ a key storyline from the first five books by Rick Riordan. However, the show will make some changes as it adapts the story for television.
As a huge fantasy fan, I’ve noticed the really great series don’t just copy what’s been done before – they either bring something totally new to the table or they take an old idea and make it feel fresh and exciting. Everyone talks about the big hits, and rightly so, but shows like Penny Dreadful and even Merlin have quietly had a huge impact too. It’s not about being the most popular; a fantasy show can really shake things up if it can prove to its viewers that it offers something truly unique, something you can’t find anywhere else.
