Reverse isekai stories are captivating because they highlight the differences between fantasy and everyday life. Watching powerful fantasy characters struggle with ordinary things – like a demon lord at a job interview or an elf obsessed with video games – surprisingly grounds these stories in relatable human experiences. The most successful reverse isekai tales work because they offer a fresh, and often amusing, perspective on the world around us.

This series is receiving incredible praise, boasting a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – even higher than beloved HBO shows like The Sopranos, The Wire, The Leftovers, and Succession. It’s quickly becoming one of HBO’s greatest series ever. With a second season already planned and strong viewership last year, this 7-part crime drama is predicted to be a major contender at the 2026 Emmy Awards next September.

Dan Levy, who played David in the popular CBC show Schitt’s Creek, recently returned to the Ontario town of Goodwood where the series was filmed. In an interview with Anthony Mason on CBS Sunday Morning, Levy visited the location for the first time since production ended in 2020. He shared fond memories of working with Catherine O’Hara, who played his character’s mother, and made it clear that any future projects, like a sequel or reunion, wouldn’t happen without her.

After a decade since the previous Daredevil series, “Daredevil: Born Again” is back with Charlie Cox reprising his role as the hero. The cast also includes returning favorites Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, and Wilson Bethel, as well as new faces like Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, and Zabryna Guevara. The first season premiered in 2025, and the second is scheduled for 2026.

While some classics still hold up, remakes and revivals offer a chance to recapture the good feelings without repeating those mistakes. Over time, it’s not just the special effects in science fiction that feel dated – many aspects of older shows can seem surprisingly out of touch.

Arty Froushan, who plays Buck Cashman in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series—the right-hand man to Wilson Fisk (played by Vincent D’Onofrio)—was recently featured in a social media post. A fan on X (formerly Twitter) shared a picture of Froushan with a handgun next to a photo of James Bond, captioning it “hear me out.” D’Onofrio responded simply with, “I agree.” Many other fans have also expressed their approval of the show’s casting choices, with one commenting that the connection “makes perfect sense.”
