Following his time in prison after the events of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3, Mickey Haller just wanted a simple day: a drive and a quiet evening with a home-cooked meal. He was even enthusiastic about trying a new recipe, sharing this with Izzy. While grocery shopping late at night, he noticed a woman who seemed to be watching him. She kept glancing at him and then quickly looking away, as if hesitant to approach. Mickey offered a friendly smile, but sensed something strange about her behavior – she seemed to be intentionally observing him. He decided to ignore it and continue shopping.

As a big fan of his work, I’m really excited to hear that Matt Reeves’ longtime collaborator, Dan Trachtenberg, just signed a three-year deal with Paramount! Basically, he’s going to be directing, producing, and developing new projects for them, with his usual partner in crime, Ben Rosenblatt, by his side. It’s great to see Paramount recognizing his talent – they gave him his big break back in 2016 with 10 Cloverfield Lane, which I still think is a fantastic, suspenseful movie. Hopefully, this means we’ll be getting a lot more cool stuff from him soon!

With a new Muppet Show special, several projects in the works, and updates coming to Disney Parks, 2026 is looking like a major year for The Muppets as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. It’s the first time in almost ten years that there’s a clear plan for The Muppets’ future, rather than just responding to opportunities as they arise.

Diabolic offers a tightly focused story with a small group of characters who discover a frightening force while investigating a church’s troubled past. Its deliberate pace, effective scares, and serious themes are similar to those in The First Omen, making it a great choice for fans of that film.

This weekend, Netflix has some exciting new shows to watch, including the action-packed spy thriller Unfamiliar and the series Search Party. If you’re hoping to find a captivating show to watch all in one sitting, this 8-episode series is a great pick.

Look, Liam Neeson’s got a fantastic filmography – from the serious weight of Schindler’s List to the blockbuster thrills of Batman Begins. He’s clearly not afraid to take on diverse roles, and even as he moves into his 70s, he’s still diving headfirst into action! His latest, In the Land of Saints and Sinners, is a prime example – he’s still getting down and dirty, and it’s great to see. While he’s slated for another action film in 2025, this 2023 release really scratches that action itch for both him and, frankly, for us fans.

At Rhode Island Comic Con, Ray Stevenson (as reported by CinemaBlend) described season 2 as a significant improvement over the first. He promised fans a very intense season, calling the storyline “brutal” and noting that he personally found it more exciting to film than season 1.

Several shows will be back with new seasons in 2026, including The Night Agent, Black Doves, and The Diplomat. Meanwhile, a very popular Netflix thriller ended in 2025. Though that often signals the end of a series, a sequel is still possible, and hasn’t been ruled out.

Japanese game studio Attructure recently announced its new game, ANLIFE: Motion-Learning Life Evolution, which will be available worldwide on February 11th. Interestingly, the technology behind the game previously received criticism from Hayao Miyazaki, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, who famously called it “an insult to life.”

Beyond those earlier films, Michael Mann gave us amazing movies like The Insider, Ali, and Collateral – his reputation really speaks for itself. But things got a little tougher for him after Miami Vice (2006) and Public Enemies (2009) didn’t quite connect with audiences. Still, he’s made so many incredible films that I think Blackhat deserves a look, especially because Chris Hemsworth, who’s become so popular in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is in it.
