Andrzej Żuławski’s 1981 film, Possession, is widely considered a classic, earning high scores from critics (88% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.3 on IMDb) and maintaining a strong reputation for decades. The strong reactions from fans aren’t about wanting to keep the film exclusive, but rather a deep appreciation for its unique qualities and a fear that its particular impact can’t be duplicated. For devoted viewers, trying to remake Possession feels wrong because it’s a truly singular and unforgettable cinematic experience.

Even after directing many films over 23 years, Tim Burton’s Big Fish remains remarkably relatable and endlessly rewatchable for many viewers. Based on Daniel Wallace’s novel of the same name, it’s Burton’s most heartwarming movie – a charming and moving story about the bond between a father and his son.

For decades, The Muppet Show has been a beloved part of pop culture, and 2026 will be its 50th anniversary. While the Muppets aren’t as prominent as they once were, a new special shows they still have plenty of charm. However, despite the special’s success, it highlights a recurring problem with Disney’s approach: a failure to fully embrace the playful, chaotic spirit that Jim Henson originally created.

Hitchcock directed many famous films, including classics like Psycho, Vertigo, and Rear Window. While most people are familiar with these titles, they’re worth watching – they truly represent the best of his work.

Netflix has become known for its innovative and captivating science fiction series, including shows like Dark, Sense8, The OA, and Black Mirror. However, within its extensive collection of original content, only one series fully embodies the cyberpunk genre. Though it was unfortunately canceled after just two seasons, this show stands out as one of Netflix’s most visually impressive and daring sci-fi endeavors.

I recently read an interview with Sam Raimi, the director of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and he talked about something he wished he’d done differently with the movie. He was discussing working with Rachel McAdams, and he said she was exactly what he needed for the role because she’s such a talented actress.

While the final season of Game of Thrones wasn’t perfect, the show remains incredibly popular and influential years later, and its spin-offs are also performing well. Achieving even a fraction of Game of Thrones‘ success and positive reviews – especially during its first seven seasons – would be a major accomplishment for any fantasy series today.

Before Prime Video became available worldwide in 2016, they released a show called Patriot. Though it’s largely been overlooked—perhaps because it came out so early in the age of streaming, or because it seemed geared towards American viewers—Patriot is a truly excellent series. It’s a must-see for thriller fans and anyone interested in how current events can shape a show, especially one that felt surprisingly modern for its time.

One of the most compelling villains in the movie was The Engineer, played by María Gabriela de Faría. She was a former U.S. soldier whose blood contained tiny nanites – microscopic machines – that let her change her body however she wanted. Her powers were visually impressive and used in creative ways, but the movie didn’t fully explore their potential.
