While some of King’s projects turned out better than others, in 1991 he decided to take full creative control with Golden Years, a sci-fi thriller he’d originally envisioned as a novel. He wrote the first five episodes of what he called a “novel for TV” and planned out the remaining two, hoping it would become a long-running series. Unfortunately, CBS canceled the show after all seven episodes aired, and the project was abandoned.

Netflix has had some big hits recently, with the latest seasons of Stranger Things and Bridgerton. The fourth season of Bridgerton was released in two parts – the first on January 28th, and the second coming February 26th – and it’s already boosted Netflix’s earnings significantly.

Season 2 of Monarch brings back the show’s talented cast, including Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Wyatt Russell, and Kurt Russell. The Russells play the same character, Lee Shaw, but at different ages. Kurt Russell recently hinted that the new Titan—or something even more dangerous—will be a major challenge in the MonsterVerse.

Welcome to Derry goes back to 1962, following a new group of children terrorized by the shapeshifting monster known as “It.” At the same time, the military is hunting for It’s hiding place, with sinister plans for the creature.

Even though Wizards of the Coast hasn’t released much new official content yet this year, players are already creating some excellent unofficial materials. The Kickstarter-funded Chapelwick setting for Dungeons & Dragons is scheduled to ship later this year, offering a new campaign inspired by the cosmic horror of Bloodborne.
