Apple TV+’s latest series is quickly becoming a streaming favorite. Since premiering last month, the psychological thriller has climbed to become the second most-watched show on the platform. Apple TV+ has a history of strong thriller series, including titles like Servant, Black Bird, and Shining Girls, and this new show continues that trend, boosted by its talented cast.
The new thriller stars Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara as three lifelong friends whose relationship is shaken by a shocking murder. As the investigation progresses, old secrets, betrayals, and hidden grudges emerge, revealing that their seemingly ideal lives and friendship were much more complex than anyone knew.
The psychological thriller Imperfect Women debuted on Apple TV with its first two episodes on March 18th and has been steadily gaining popularity. Currently, with four episodes remaining in the season, it’s the #2 show in the U.S., just behind Shrinking and ahead of For All Mankind at #3.
‘Imperfect Women’ Is Not Without Its Flaws
Created by Annie Weisman and adapted from Araminta Hall’s novel, Imperfect Women looks at how past decisions impact the lives of three women. The series explores the serious consequences of their actions and how they grapple with guilt, their sense of self-worth, and the challenges to their friendships.
So far, reactions to Imperfect Women have been varied. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes give it a 44% rating, with some praising it as a great mystery thriller – like Aramide Tinubu of Variety – while others, such as Alberto Carlos from Espinof, find it rather predictable and unoriginal.
What to Watch After ‘Imperfect Women’

If you’re loving Imperfect Women and want similar shows, you have plenty of options! Big Little Lies on HBO is probably the closest match – it’s another mystery that unfolds through flashbacks and explores themes of friendship, jealousy, and past trauma.
If you enjoyed Imperfect Women and want to see more of Kerry Washington, Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu is a fantastic choice. This emotional series, based on a popular novel, focuses on the seemingly perfect Richardson family and how their lives are disrupted by a mysterious mother and daughter.
If you’re looking for a good binge-watch, I highly recommend a few things. Nicole Kidman is fantastic in The Undoing over on HBO Max. I also really got into The Affair – it ran for five seasons and you can find it on Paramount+. And if you like psychological thrillers, you absolutely have to see Sharp Objects with Amy Adams, also on HBO Max. It’s truly captivating!
It’s currently unknown if Imperfect Women will return for a second season, as it was originally created as a short, eight-episode series. However, if enough viewers are interested, a continuation is possible. The first four episodes are now available on Apple TV+, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday until the finale on April 29th.
