Fans of the hit spy series Slow Horses are currently waiting for new episodes after season five ended in late October. However, there’s good news: Apple TV has already renewed the show for two more seasons, meaning we’ll definitely see more of Slow Horses in the future.
With the fifth season of Slow Horses concluding on October 29, 2025, it’s expected that season six won’t arrive for about a year. This new season will be based on Mick Herron’s novels, Joe Country and Slough House. A year between seasons is typical for the show. While fans wait, there are other similar series to watch, including one currently streaming on Apple TV.
Slow Horses Fans Should Watch Down Cemetery Road On Apple TV
Down Cemetery Road Premiered On October 29
If you enjoyed the fifth season finale of Slow Horses, you’ll likely love Down Cemetery Road. Both shows are British thrillers that offer a similar, gripping experience. While they’re different stories, Down Cemetery Road delivers the same kind of addictive suspense that made Slow Horses so popular.
Similar to the strong cast of Slow Horses, Down Cemetery Road features impressive acting talent. Emma Thompson plays Zoë Boehm, a private investigator who takes on a challenging case involving arson and a missing person. A woman named Sarah Tucker (played by Ruth Wilson) hires Zoë to investigate what was initially reported as a house explosion and tragic accident, but the truth turns out to be far more complicated.
Down Cemetery Road Has Another Connection With Slow Horses
The Apple TV Show Isn’t An Original Story
Beyond its engaging plot and talented actors, the British thriller Down Cemetery Road has a connection to the popular series Slow Horses. Both shows are based on the work of author Mick Herron: Slow Horses adapts his Slough House novels, while Down Cemetery Road is based on his 2003 book of the same title.
Morwenna Banks, who created Down Cemetery Road, also writes for Slow Horses. This connection between Banks and Mick Herron (the author Slow Horses is based on) explains why both shows share a similar atmosphere and compelling narratives. If you enjoy the Apple TV thriller Slow Horses – and especially Gary Oldman’s performance – you’ll likely find Down Cemetery Road (which premiered on the same day as Slow Horses‘ fifth season concluded) to be a great watch.
New episodes of the Apple TV series Down Cemetery Road come out on Wednesdays. The show has eight episodes total, and the last one will be available on Wednesday, December 10th.
