I’ve been keeping an eye on the streaming charts, and I’m really happy to see that the new show Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, with Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson, is doing so well! According to FlixPatrol, it’s already landed at number four on the most-watched series on Apple TV in the US. It actually started at number seven, so it’s been steadily climbing – a great sign people are really enjoying it.
Adding to its success, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed has reached number three on Apple TV’s worldwide streaming chart, confirming it’s a thriller that viewers will enjoy.
What Is Apple TV’s Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed About?
David J. Rosen created and oversaw the show, which premiered on May 20th. It centers around Paula Saunders, played by Tatiana Maslany, whose life unravels after her divorce from Karl (Jake Johnson). When a new online romance turns threatening, Paula attempts to confront the man, only to find someone else has already taken matters—and committed murder.
“Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed” centers on Paula, a recently divorced mother who gets caught up in a web of blackmail, murder, and the competitive world of youth soccer. Believing she’s seen something criminal, and while navigating a difficult custody fight and personal struggles, Paula starts her own investigation. This pursuit could expose a larger conspiracy, and potentially help her rebuild her life and family.
Since its debut with two episodes, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed has received very positive feedback from both critics and viewers. Currently, Rotten Tomatoes gives the series a “Certified Fresh” rating of 92% based on over 30 reviews, and audiences have given it an 86% score.
Why Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed Was a Mystery to Work on and to Watch
We’d receive scripts with unexpected twists. As the show progressed and Mallory’s character was developed, I realized she wasn’t what I initially thought. Similarly, I didn’t know about certain developments with Tatiana’s character, Paula – like the events in episode four when they returned to Portland – when we were filming the pilot. It wasn’t just a surprise to the audience; we were discovering the story as we filmed it.
