Apple TV’s 2-Part Thriller Series With Game Of Thrones Star Becomes Global Streaming Sensation

Apple TV‘s returning thriller series unravels the secret of streaming success.

Apple TV+ has become known for its excellent science fiction shows, including popular series like Silo, Foundation, Severance, and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. But the platform offers much more than just sci-fi; its thriller series have also gained a large international following, proving Apple TV+’s diverse range of compelling content.

Popular thrillers like Hijack, which just launched a new season, and shows such as Black Bird, Presumed Innocent, and Slow Horses (season 6 is coming later this year) keep viewers coming back. Another hit, The Last Thing He Told Me, recently returned for a second season after a nearly three-year break.

As a big TV fan, I was really interested to see that The Last Thing He Told Me is currently the most-watched show on Apple TV globally, according to FlixPatrol. It’s actually beating out some seriously popular titles like Shrinking, Pluribus, The Morning Show, Severance, even Ted Lasso and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters! The second season kicked off on February 20th with the first episode being released.

As of today, The Last Thing He Told Me is Apple TV+’s most popular show in 24 countries, including Colombia, Denmark, Mexico, and Sweden. The mystery thriller is currently a top ten hit in an amazing 102 countries around the world, including the United States.

Following its premiere, “The Last Thing He Told Me” is now the second most popular show on Apple TV+ in the U.S. Only “Shrinking,” starring Harrison Ford and Jason Segel and currently in its third season, is performing better. “The Last Thing He Told Me” also features a compelling cast.

The Apple TV+ series centers around the puzzling vanishing of Owen Michaels, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (known for Game of Thrones). As his wife, Hannah Hall (Jennifer Garner), and daughter, Bailey Michaels (Angourie Rice), search for answers, they grow closer. Critics haven’t been very impressed with the second season, giving it a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on seven reviews.

The audience score is still changing because there haven’t been many ratings yet – currently less than 50. However, the popularity of The Last Thing He Told Me on Apple TV+ suggests people are eager to watch the new season of this thriller. New episodes will be released each week until the eighth and final episode. As of now, there are no plans for a third season of The Last Thing He Told Me.
