Antony Starr, famous for playing Homelander in the Prime Video series The Boys, looks completely different in newly released photos from Samo Lives. Starr has been a key part of The Boys since its first season, and he’s also lent his voice to the character in The Boys Presents: Diabolical and appeared in an episode of the Gen V spinoff.
Before the fifth season of The Boys comes out in 2026 – filming has already wrapped – Antony Starr is currently working on Samo Lives. This movie tells the story of the famous artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, known for his graffiti and paintings. Kelvin Harrison Jr. will portray Basquiat, and Starr will play Andy Warhol.
People magazine has the first photos of actor Luke Grimes as Andy Warhol. He’s nearly unrecognizable with silver-gray, wavy hair and oversized glasses. In the photos, he’s wearing a blue turtleneck, black jacket, and jeans, and he’s smiling while walking in a park, carrying an album, and with a camera around his neck.

Anthony Starr looks strikingly like Andy Warhol in this role, a significant departure from his appearance as Homelander in The Boys. Portraying a famous, unique, and impactful artist like Warhol is a completely different challenge for the actor, and he’s fully embracing it.
Alongside Brooklynn Prince and Harrison Jr., the film Samo Lives features a talented cast including Jeffrey Wright (known for Westworld), Danny Ramirez (Captain America: Brave New World), Kathryn Newton (The Society), Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Thomas Kretschmann (The Pianist), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus), Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio), and Priah Ferguson (Stranger Things). The film is directed and written by Julius Onah, who also directed Captain America: Brave New World and The Cloverfield Paradox.
The movie’s title comes from a graffiti tag used by artists Basquiat and Al Diaz. Beyond their powerful and socially conscious artwork, Basquiat and Warhol developed a close personal bond, and the film will delve into their relationship.
With Antony Starr’s role in Samo Lives being his only announced project following The Boys, it’s a great way for fans to see more of his work after the show ends. The film explores the story of Basquiat and Warhol, their connection, and the lasting influence of their art.
