An OG Lilo & Stitch Actress Visited Disneyland To Celebrate The Movie Out On Disney+, And Her Ears Game Is On Point

As a huge Disney fan, one of the best perks of having annual passes (before the prices went up!) was definitely the chance celebrity sightings. You’d be walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and suddenly spot someone famous – I remember seeing the Kardashians and even Eric Stonestreet from *Modern Family*! The latest star I’ve heard about? Tia Carrere, who voiced Nani in *Lilo & Stitch*! It’s always fun to see who’s enjoying the magic too.

It’s likely no accident that this happened. *Lilo & Stitch* recently became available on Disney+, and Carrere was at the parks celebrating its release. I loved her Hawaiian-inspired style, but it was the Minnie Mouse ears—designed to look like Lilo’s—that really stood out.

These ears are from Aulani, Disney’s Hawaiian resort, and are called the Plumeria ears, named after the region’s beautiful flowers. They were released a few years ago, around 2020, in several colors – including black, as worn by Carrere – as well as pink, rose gold, purple, and coral. While they can be hard to find now, dedicated shoppers can still purchase them used. It’s great that the actress kept hers to show her support for her home state, Hawaii.

The actress has been involved with the *Lilo & Stitch* series since it started. She originally voiced Nani in the 2002 animated film and has returned for the live-action remake. In the new 2025 *Lilo & Stitch* movie, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong plays the older sister, while the actress will reprise her role as Mrs. Kekoa, the social worker overseeing Lilo and Nani.

She shared that she was pleased the film was getting another chance, allowing her to fix an error from the original *Lilo & Stitch*.

Even with a few animation errors, TopMob’s review of *Lilo & Stitch* (2025) rightly praised bringing Tia Carrere back to the series. Her presence adds a vital human touch to the story about aliens, and I completely agree. It’s wonderful that she’s been involved with the franchise for almost 25 years and still approaches it with the same energy she always has.

I’m adding Carrere to the list of celebrities, like Sydney Sweeney, who have much better ears than me! I’m blaming the amazing ears for my envy, so I’m going to try and find a pair just like them. They’re beautiful, and I need them for my next trip to the parks.
