ScreenRant’s review of Young Sherlock highlighted how the Prime Video series successfully expands on the well-known character, “creating a wealth of new stories that further define the character that has become so immensely popular.” The review also commended the show for capturing the spirit of Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories and breathing new life into them.
Young Sherlock follows Sherlock Holmes as a 19-year-old just starting out as an investigator, detailing how he evolves into the famous detective we all know. The series stars Dónal Finn as James Moriarty and Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes.
Whether Young Sherlock will return for a second season is still uncertain, despite its popularity with both viewers and critics. However, given the wealth of source material and the show’s positive reception, a renewal seems likely in the near future.
