Pokémon Pokopia is all about collecting items to customize and build, but you can find even more by using special Mystery Gift codes. The game is constantly updated with new, limited-time events and collaborations, so it’s a good idea to regularly check for these codes to get everything available.
Mystery Gifts have been a part of Pokémon games since the beginning, starting with the second generation. They usually rely on the wireless features of each Nintendo console. With Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll need to be connected to the internet to use Mystery Gift codes.

As of April 2026 (this information will be updated monthly), there’s currently just one active code available for free items in Pokémon Pokopia. While two free items – the Chansey Plant and the Ditto Rug – are available through Mystery Gifts, you don’t need a code to get the Ditto Rug. You can obtain it by selecting the “Get via Internet” option, which is explained further below.
Mystery Gift codes can only be used once. After you’ve entered a code and received your item, that code won’t work again. If you’d like to have another copy of the item, you can try taking a photo of it and printing a Pokémetal version at a Pokémon Center.
How To Redeem Codes In Pokémon Pokopia
Okay, so if I want to grab those Mystery Gifts, I need to head to a PC – any one outside a Pokémon Center works, I don’t even need to rebuild it! Once I’m at the PC, I just hit the ‘Get Items’ button on the bottom, then from that new menu, I pick the ‘Mystery Gifts’ option at the very bottom. Easy peasy!
When you open the Mystery Gifts menu, you’ll see three choices. To use a code from above, select the second option, labeled Get with Code/Password. This will bring up a keyboard on your Switch 2 so you can type in the code. If you’re getting a free item that doesn’t require a code, like the Ditto Rug, choose Get via Internet. (The pictures above show exactly how to redeem codes.)
Nintendo will probably release new free item codes from time to time for Pokopia, so it’s worth checking back often. These ‘Mystery Gifts’ are sometimes the only way to get special, exclusive items, and once a code is used, the item is gone for good. While Mystery Gifts have always been part of the main Pokémon games, we don’t know yet how often they’ll appear in Pokémon Pokopia, but you might be able to collect a lot of free stuff!
