Most viewers and critics agree that War Machine is an enjoyable, action-packed movie, and Ritchson delivers a strong lead performance.

In the movie, Joe Ritchson stars as 81, a soldier enduring the grueling U.S. Army Ranger training, where he’s confronted with a life-or-death struggle. The film’s premise centers on an elite Ranger team whose final training exercise transforms into a desperate battle for survival against a mysterious and powerful enemy. Critics have drawn comparisons between Ritchson’s performance and the movie’s blend of science fiction and action to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role in Predator.
