Since its debut in 2022, Alan Ritchson’s Reacher series on Prime Video has become incredibly popular, even when compared to the earlier Jack Reacher movies starring Tom Cruise. Many fans now consider Ritchson’s portrayal the best live-action version of the character created by Lee Child, and each season consistently attracts a large audience. Several of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels – including Killing Floor, Bad Luck and Trouble, and Persuader – have been turned into eight-episode TV seasons. Alan Ritchson recently told ScreenRant that season five of Reacher is officially in production, with all the scripts already completed. He expects filming to take up most of 2026. While fans will have to wait for the new season, getting a head start on filming gives Prime Video flexibility in scheduling its release, particularly as they continue to expand the Reacher universe.
Given the way Reacher is structured, each season will likely stand alone with minimal connections to what happens next, except for what happens to the main character. This approach has worked well so far, so there’s no current plan to change it. However, viewers are interested in seeing other characters from Jack Reacher’s past return, beyond Neagley, who has appeared in every season so far.
