A standout horror film from this year is now available to stream. Horror movies have become increasingly popular recently, with a lot of great releases from both independent and large studios, and 2025 delivered plenty of scares.
One of the year’s standout releases is Shudder’s Good Boy. The film gained a lot of attention online after its trailer dropped, largely because the story is uniquely told from a dog’s perspective. Following strong reviews and a successful run in theaters, Shudder announced that Good Boy will be available to stream on their service starting November 21st.
The horror film Good Boy gained attention throughout the year, beginning at the South by Southwest Festival on March 8th. Critics gave it a perfect rating, and after receiving significant buzz within just one day, Independent Film Company decided to expand its release. Originally planned for limited showings, the film will now have a wide theatrical release on October 3rd.
The movie was released in cinemas to overwhelmingly positive reviews. Although it didn’t maintain a perfect score as more critics weighed in, it ultimately achieved a strong 90% rating and earned a ‘Certified Fresh’ designation. Viewers also enjoyed it, giving it an 82% approval rating.
Wow, I just read a review that described the movie as something really special! Apparently, it’s a horror film that’s beautiful to look at, but also incredibly sad and impactful. What’s really cool is that it doesn’t follow the usual horror movie formula – it’s totally unique and tries to do something different with its ideas. It sounds genuinely haunting and thought-provoking, and I’m so excited to see it!
