As a big Sci-Fi fan, I’ve been really impressed with Apple TV lately – it’s become a go-to place for the genre. They’re building something really cool with their upcoming series, creating a shared universe for their Sci-Fi shows. It’s exciting to see them expanding on what they started three years ago, and a recent update shows they’re committed to making it even better. What I love is the variety – they’re not afraid to try different approaches with their Sci-Fi TV shows.
Shows like Dark Matter delve into the idea of multiple universes and different realities, while Foundation focuses on the potential downfall of society and how to prevent it. Severance takes a more realistic, though still mind-bending, approach. Overall, the streaming service clearly understands science fiction and is successfully building a connected universe of shows.

The MonsterVerse began with the 2014 movie Godzilla in theaters. Now, the story continues on Apple TV with the series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The show was popular with viewers, telling the MonsterVerse’s history through different time periods and featuring many of its iconic monsters in its first season.
Apple TV+ is expanding the MonsterVerse with its first science fiction shared universe through the spinoff series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. This new show will be a prequel, exploring the earlier life of Lee Shaw, a character played by Wyatt Russell. Because of Lee Shaw’s significance in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters – and Wyatt Russell’s compelling portrayal – the two shows are expected to be closely connected. He quickly became a fan favorite, and I think he’s a real highlight of the series.
The Monarch Shared Universe Continues To Grow With An Exciting Season 2 Debut
Creating a connected universe of shows is a big opportunity for Apple TV+, and they’ve proven they can deliver the special effects and engaging storylines this kind of project requires. By building stories around a key character from Monarch, Apple TV+ is setting itself up to potentially surpass the success of the MonsterVerse films.
I recently got a look at the trailer for season two of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and honestly, I’m really excited. It’s been three years since the show first hit Apple TV+, and it still feels as captivating and epic as it did when I first watched it. What’s really cool is that this series, and the whole shared universe it’s building, just keeps getting stronger with each new installment. It’s not just a spinoff that holds up – the original series continues to impress, too!
The world of Monarch is expanding with a frightening new monster. The trailer for season 2 introduced Titan X, which is said to be larger than both Kong and Godzilla. Following the impressive scale established in season 1, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is building towards an even more expansive and thrilling shared science fiction universe.
