Adults Finally Got Renewed After Months Of Waiting, And The Cast And Creator’s Reactions Are So Fitting

FX’s new show, Adults, quickly became a fan favorite when it premiered in 2025. Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, both writers for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and executive produced by Nick Kroll, the show was praised for its charm. After a wait for renewal, and lots of requests from fans, Adults has officially been picked up for a second season, and those involved are thrilled!

Every generation seems to have a comedy that captures the experience of being in your twenties, and for Gen Z, Adults quickly became a strong contender when it first aired on FX in May. Considering that was quite a while ago, fans who loved the show have been eagerly awaiting news about its future. Thankfully, that news is finally here, and the cast is now reacting to the announcement of Season 2.

LET’S DO IT AGAIN

“Adults” is the first series created by Rebecca Shaw and Ben Kronengold, who previously wrote for “Jimmy Fallon” for over 400 episodes between 2019 and 2021. Both young writers – Shaw is 30 and Kronengold is 29 – we are eager to see what they bring to the show in the future.

Now, on to the cast’s reactions. Here’s what Adults star Lucy Freyer wrote on her Instagram:

In the show, Freyer portrays Billie, a young woman in her twenties who is temporarily living with her friend Samir and three others at his family’s house in Queens, New York, while Samir’s parents are away traveling.

And then there’s Jack Innanen, who plays Paul in Adults. He famously went viral for responding on TikTok regarding calls from fans for Season 2. Now, he can celebrate the fact that it’s happening, and he did just that as he wrote on Instagram:

It’s fantastic to see the cast so excited about returning for another season of the show! Most of them are relatively new to acting, and coming back will give them a chance to really develop their characters and have even more comedic chemistry as a group. One cast member already has a great idea for season two that we’re hoping makes it into the show.

The first season featured some great guest actors like Charlie Cox, D’Arcy Carden, and Julia Fox, and now that the show is gaining attention, it’s exciting to think about who might appear in the future. While it was a five-month wait to hear the show was renewed, we’re glad it’s coming back, even if it took a little longer than expected.
