Adult Swim on Cartoon Network has announced what’s coming up next in a recent update.
Beginning Monday, April 13, 2026, Dragon Ball Z Kai will be back on Cartoon Network as part of the Adult Swim lineup. It will air weekdays at 5 a.m. Eastern time, replacing Sailor Moon.
Even better, the new run will start with Episode 48. Previously, Cartoon Network’s morning showings of DBZ Kai only included up to Episode 47, so the network must have gotten a new set of episodes to prepare for the show’s comeback.
Dragon Ball Z Kai Returns to Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim on April 13
The return of Dragon Ball Z Kai to Adult Swim is part of a wave of exciting news for fans of Akira Toriyama’s series in 2026. As revealed at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event, two new animated projects are currently being made, with the first one expected to launch this fall.
The first story arc of Dragon Ball Super is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2026. Like Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, it will have improved visuals and feature the same artist and animation team.
Besides Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the new anime will also include the popular “Galactic Patrol” arc from the Dragon Ball Super manga. This story introduces Mora, a new villain originally created by Toyotarou and previously only available in the manga.
I’m so excited! The official Dragon Ball website announced back in January that the next story will take place right after the ‘Universe Survival Arc’ from Dragon Ball Super – you know, the one that aired between 2015 and 2018. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
This story also appears in the manga Dragon Ball as the ‘Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc.’ It features Son Goku and Vegeta teaming up with the Galactic Patrol – the galaxy’s peacekeepers – to fight a massive new enemy called Moro, who devours entire planets!
While some people are predicting it will come out in 2027, there’s no confirmed release date yet for Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol.
You can now stream the entire Dragon Ball franchise—including Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and the newest series, Dragon Ball Daima—on Crunchyroll. If you prefer to read the Dragon Ball Super manga, it’s available digitally through the Viz Media and Manga Plus apps.
