ABC’s Emmy-Winning Fantasy Sitcom Has One Star Hopeful For 16-Year Return In Light Of Season 3 Revival Update

Even though Pushing Daisies ended almost twenty years ago, fans are still eager for a revival, and actor Lee Pace believes there’s a good chance it could happen.

Pushing Daisies is a quirky and charming show about a pie-maker who can bring people back to life. There’s a catch, though: if he touches someone he’s revived, they die permanently. He uses his ability to bring back his childhood sweetheart, but they have to maintain a careful distance. Together with a private investigator and a waitress, he secretly solves murder cases.

Bryan Fuller, the creator of the TV show Pushing Daisies, shared last year that he had ideas for a third season and was committed to making it happen. Although the studio hasn’t officially announced a new season, recent statements from Lee Pace, who played the main character Ned – known as “The Pie Maker” – have given fans renewed hope.

While promoting Invincible, actor Steven Yeun recently told ComicBook that he and creator Robert Kirkman have talked about a possible third season. Yeun expressed his satisfaction with the show’s direction and his optimism that it will happen, describing the idea as exciting and fondly remembering his experience working on the series.

The actor shared that working on Pushing Daisies was a particularly special time for him, and he really enjoyed playing the character Ned. He also fondly remembered his co-star, Anna Friel, who played Charlotte Charles, and expressed his enthusiasm for potentially working with the original cast again in the future.

Pace hasn’t shared any details about the story, but his interest in returning suggests the original cast members are generally on board with a revival, as Fuller mentioned before. The biggest challenge now is finding a studio or streaming service willing to fund a new season of Pushing Daisies.

The series was a huge hit with both audiences and critics. Both seasons of Pushing Daisies received high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes – Season 1 with 92% and Season 2 with a perfect 100%. It was also a major awards contender, earning 17 Primetime Emmy nominations and winning seven awards.

Although nothing is certain, the recent trend of bringing back old shows makes a revival of Pushing Daisies more likely. It’s becoming common to see shows return after many years, and this year we’ve already seen Malcolm in the Middle and Scrubs come back, with a new Baywatch series on the way. This increases the possibility of other beloved shows, like Pushing Daisies, being picked up by a studio.

As of today, there’s no confirmed date for the premiere of Pushing Daisies season 3.
