I usually get into the holiday spirit by revisiting all my favorite Christmas movies, and I tend to shelve the horror flicks until after the new year. But I’m a huge horror fan overall, so I guess that’s why my social media is now showing me the strangest thing: Hereditary Christmas ornaments! Seriously, A24 is making ornaments based on Ari Aster’s film, and honestly, as weird as they are, I kind of want one… or maybe several… and I’m a little bummed they’re not already hanging on my tree!
As a huge horror fan, I was thrilled to see A24 leaning into the intensity of that unforgettable scene! They’re actually selling a set of collectibles – and it’s pretty wild. You can get a replica of Charlie’s head (yep, the decaying one!), along with a severed pigeon head and a figure of “King Paimon.” The whole set of three is available for $36, and honestly, it’s a must-have for any serious collector like me.

That Charlie ornament is both scary and funny. It’s surprisingly gross for a holiday decoration, and seeing the bugs on its head immediately reminds me of that awful scene. It’s strangely comforting to look at, or maybe I’m just becoming numb to scary things after watching so many horror movies like Bring Her Back.

I Decided To Rewatch Hereditary, And Wow, One Scene Hit So Much Harder This Time Around
The popular Hereditary ornaments are currently sold out and on a waitlist, but there are still ways to decorate your Christmas tree with A24 horror vibes! The X trilogy ornament set is available, and I especially love the Midsommar May Queen tree topper. Speaking of toppers, I learned the hard way (while looking at a Star Wars Death Star one!) that you need to make sure any elaborate tree topper doesn’t make your tree unstable.
These ornaments are likely to be popular with fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas who wish the Halloween season could last longer. They’ll also appeal to collectors – I’m sure people will be searching for these in the future and willing to pay a premium to add them to their Christmas trees. Honestly, I want one myself and would even consider buying it from a reseller if the price is right!
I really like these ornaments, but they don’t quite make up for having to watch the movie Hereditary again. I saw it a couple of years ago and I’m good for another ten years, honestly. I think I’ll wait until my daughter is older – maybe even in her thirties – before I subject myself to that movie again.

HBO Max offers streaming access to DC Comics content – including the DCU, DCEU, and classic titles – plus a wide range of popular horror movies. Subscriptions start at $10.99 per month for the Basic With Ads plan, giving you thousands of movies, shows, documentaries, and more. See the deal here.
You can stream the movie Hereditary on HBO Max. I don’t plan on watching it right now, but I hope someone who’s seen it might be inspired to revisit this highly-praised horror film.
