The release date for One Piece Season 2 hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected to be released on Netflix in 2026. Netflix is regularly sharing updates and interviews with the show’s cast. Recently, Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, discussed the show’s popularity and revealed he stayed home after Season 1 due to its success.
Skylar, the actor who plays Sanji in the live-action version of the popular manga and anime One Piece, recently talked to GQ about the new season and much more. He shared that he developed social anxiety and stayed home a lot after the show premiered worldwide, and explained the reason why.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and guilty when you meet a lot of people, like at an event, because you can’t possibly give everyone the attention they deserve. No one really teaches you how to handle that feeling. I used to try to connect with everyone, which led to a lot of social anxiety, especially when I was starting out.
The actor who plays Sanji shared how challenging it can be to be a celebrity and appreciate all the support while knowing you can’t please everyone. With a hugely popular show like One Piece, it’s impossible to meet all expectations. He explained that if you’re worried about letting people down and realize you can’t make everyone happy, it’s completely understandable why you’d want to stay home.

Okay, so I’ve been watching the new season of One Piece, and honestly, the way they’re titling the episodes is wild. It feels super Hollywood, which is a bit different for the show. But here’s the thing – I think one of the episode titles actually hints at a huge fan theory that’s been floating around for ages. It’s a small thing, but it’s got me seriously excited about where the story is going!
I’m really hoping Taz Skylar finds their footing a bit more in Season 2. Things are about to get wild as Sanji and the Straw Hats finally hit the Grand Line! We’re promised a ton of new faces – some who want to sail with them, and plenty who want to see them stopped. It’s setting up to be a seriously exciting ride.
Sanji will continue to be the Straw Hat Pirates’ cook, keeping Captain Luffy and the crew well-fed. He’s also a powerful fighter, currently one of the strongest on the ship. Despite being incredibly capable, Sanji is a bit of a hopeless romantic and often finds himself falling for people who don’t reciprocate his feelings, which makes for some funny situations.
The second season of One Piece will really show if the series can keep a broad audience engaged. It’s starting to lean more into fantasy elements – think giants, massive whales, and people who can transform into smoke. It will be interesting to see how viewers react to this shift away from a typical pirate story, but I’m hoping they continue to enjoy the journey.
I also wish the actors get the appreciation and encouragement they’ve earned, as Skylar pointed out, being in a show like this can be really stressful.
Netflix has been adding a lot of One Piece lately, so we expect an official release date for streaming soon. If you can’t wait, the anime has over 1000 episodes to watch in the meantime!
