I’ve noticed Bandai has been bringing back a lot of older model kits lately, especially from their really popular mecha series. Now, they’re giving some love to a line that I always thought deserved more attention – they’re re-releasing two of its collectibles!
The popular MG 1/100 Gundam F90 model kit is coming back into production, giving fans another chance to own a model based on a story from before the main Universal Century Gundam timeline. Plus, two add-on sets will be available to boost its weapons and capabilities, and one even lets you turn it into a snowmobile! Pre-orders for these customizable sets are open now.
Gundam F90 Returns With Some of the Most Versatile Expansion Set Re-Releases

The MG 1/100 Gundam F90 originally came out in 2019 and is being re-released with several add-on sets. This model is based on the Gundam F90, which appears in a story that takes place before the Mobile Suit Gundam F91 anime film. It’s designed with improved joints for a wide range of motion, making it easy to pose with its various weapons.
I’m so excited about the new releases! They’re bringing back some amazing gear like the Beam Rifle, Beam Sabers, and a really powerful shield – and they’ve even added cool waterslide-style decals to make them look fantastic. Plus, they’re re-releasing different weapon sets designed by Kunio Okawara, which means you can totally customize the look and feel of your model – it’s going to be a completely different aesthetic!
The MG 1/100 Gundam F90 Mission Pack comes with two variations: the F-Type and the M-Type. The F-Type adds extra armor, making it ideal for close-range fighting. The M-Type features a new orange and black color scheme, with a jetpack, arrow launcher, missile launchers, and additional weaponry added to its enhanced armor.
The MG 1/100 Gundam F90 also comes with optional Mission Packs – the C-Type and the T-Type – which change how the mobile suit performs. The C-Type is designed for cold weather, adding features like a fabric cape and even skis to the feet – the Beam Sabers can even be used as ski poles! The T-Type, on the other hand, focuses on defense, with larger shields and a powerful booster for maximum protection.
The basic model kit will be priced at about $32, while the expansion packs will cost around $17 and $18 each. You can pre-order now, and both the Gundam model and its weapons are scheduled to ship in June 2026.
